Wheelchair Accessible Tours
Having been a tourist guide for 10 years and a Social Care Worker for another 8, I realised that, with the right planning, so much of Shetland can be seen and enjoyed by wheelchair users.
How it works
Each tour is planned perfectly to suit your needs, interests and timings. Once you’ve filled in the contact form on my site, I will then be in touch to discuss in detail what you’re looking to get out of your trip to Shetland. I have done a lot of research on Shetland’s disabled facilities, and what is practicable for a wheelchair user to see and/or visit
The Car

Winnie is a Peugeot Rifter Horizon from Allied Mobility.

She has one front passenger seat, three passenger seats behind the driver and a ramp and docking area at the rear of the vehicle for one wheelchair or mobile scooter.
If you are visiting Lerwick on a cruise ship - and have friends on a shore excursion bus tour you’d like to join at the venues and photo stops - then it’s easy enough for you to point them out and say, “Follow that bus!” But you may prefer to go ‘off-piste’ where the big buses can’t go.
If you are a free agent then you can either leave the day fluid for a bit of sightseeing,
or I can plan an itinerary around your interests and chair dimensions. Or your
mobility scooter.
