Meet Jacquie
Hi, I’m Jacqueline and I’ve been an Accredited Shetland Green Badge Tourist Guide with the Scottish Tour Guide Association since 2014. I specialise in providing wheelchair accessible tours of Shetland.
I’ve lived in Shetland since 1971 – more than half a century! And believe it’s one of the most special places in the world. I also believe that with a bit of preparation much of it is genuinely accessible to a wheelchair user. I want to give you a carefree, enjoyable taste of my home.
10% of all my tour fees goes to Ability Shetland, who support the efforts of disabled people to realise their full potential in all areas of life.

Accessibility in Shetland
Shetland is famous for its beautiful beaches, stunning scenery and lots of interesting wildlife. Plenty of these wonderful sights can be accessed by wheelchair users and Ability Shetland also has some all-terrain wheelchairs which can be borrowed for some of the more difficult to access areas.
Testimonials
"Jacqueline is a lovely person and as a native Shetlander, you could feel her connection with the island. Touring Shetland with Jacqueline was an experience we will always cherish."
If you want to see the Shetlands without many other people for a good price and enjoy the trip with the time you want, then I highly recommend Jacqueline Mercer.
